Kevin McGuire (double bass & vocal)

Raised in the Scottish Borders town of Peebles, Kevin has recorded and toured for a decade with classy Americana outfit The Felsons and with the band’s lead singer and songwriter Dean Owens. Most recently he has performed with Eddi Reader, Justin Currie and Blazin Fiddles as a member of the popular With Strings Attached folk-pop touring project, and as a member of Eddi’s solo band. He is also a member of the acclaimed Scottish folk big band The Unusual Suspects and much in demand as a session player.

A word from Kev:

"The musician I'd most like to invite over for tea is Tom Waits.

A piece of music that really moves me is Shetland fiddle tune "Da Day Dawn".

One album I'll never get tired of is Josh Rouse's "1972".

The thing I like best about being a musician is going to amazing places and meeting people you'd never get to meet any other way: from the wee kids we met in a mountain village built into a rockface in Oman to singing in an ancient chapel in Armenia."
